Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and Acting Public Defender of Georgia - Tamar Gvaramadze took part in the working meeting held by the Office of the Public Defender. Heads of various structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and employees of the agency also attended the event.
Participants of the meeting were addressed by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and the Acting Public Defender of Georgia - Tamar Gvaramadze.
Aleksandre Darakhvelidze reviewed challenges identified within the framework of the cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Office of the Public Defender in terms of human rights protection and ways to solve them with joint efforts.
Tamar Gvaramadze reviewed the main aspects of the Public Defender's mandate, the specifics of the Public Defender's office and current activities.
At the meeting, the parties outlined cooperation prospects and future plans.
The working meeting was organized by the European Union project - "Support to External Security Sector Oversight in Georgia".
